Westringia  after J. P. Westring, an 18th century Swedish physician;

fruticosa - shrubby, bushy

Description 

  •  Easily grown shrub which grows wild near the coast of New South Wales
  •  Stiff, bushy plant to 2 metres
  •  Narrow pointed leaves to 2 cm
  •  White to pale mauve flowers to 2 cm
  •  Drought hardy

Human uses

Leaves used as substitute for tea (European settlers)
